FOUNDER: Bishop John Francis
THE MULTIPLE award-winning London-based Ruach City Church has unveiled plans to launch Ruach Radio in September 2012. Ruach City Church was founded in 1992 by Bishop John Francis who was named number five World Class Pace-Setting Pastor in 2006 by USA Gospel Today magazine; who heads the organisation alongside wife co-pastor Penny Francis.
Ruach Radio operates from the Brixton church location in south London, providing a live studio link to services and events happening in all three locations; including north London’s Kilburn and east London’s Walthamstow. Ruach Radio offers varied Christian-centred speech and music programming of live, international and pre-recorded shows.
Listeners from all over the world are accessing Ruach Radio online via PC, Mac, mobile device and internet radio player. The Brixton studio is also a hub for Christian Media training, offering employment, internships and apprenticeships in radio.
Bishop Francis said: “We at Ruach City Church are very excited about the progress of Ruach Radio. It has always been our desire to promote the Gospel through the medium of radio. This is a wonderful opportunity to reach the unreachable with the good news of Jesus Christ. Ruach Radio is the realisation of a long-awaited vision”.
The development of Ruach Radio was made possible by a core team from Ruach which has been planning the concept for some time. Providing advice and training on infrastructure and Radio techniques were a team that includes former Managing Director of Choice FM Ivor Etienne and founder of award-winning PlayVybz Radio Andrea ‘P. Vybz’ Photiou to name a few.
